As every year UMdL participates at World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2020, supported also by International Labour Organization (ILO) and sustained also by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and by the United Nations (UN).

April 28th is also known as the International Workers’ Memorial Day; more information about it on the AFL-CIO America’s Union website and on 28april.org.

On April 28th there are many events in Italy in order to support and to give voice to all Asbestos’victims thanks to the International Day for Asbestos’VictimsGiornata Mondiale delle Vittime dell’Amianto.

This year the main theme of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2020 is “Stop the pandemic: Safety and health at work can save lives” (here the link to the official report about the topic).

The Campaign is also focused on the achievement of the target 8.8 of safe and secure working environments for all workers by 2030 and the target 8.7 of ending all forms of child labour by 2025 as proposed by the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).

As reported by the Campaign main page:Recognizing the great challenge that governments, employers, workers and whole societies are facing worldwide to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Day for Safety and Health at Work will focus on addressing the outbreak of infectious diseases at work, focusing on the COVID-19 pandemic .…”

Fighting everyday against COVID-19 healthcare workers (HCWs) are at high risk of infection and psychological distress, for this reason the World Health Organization (among others) updates specific technical guidances  (some of them translated in Italian by UMdL).
