UMdL agrees with World Cancer Day (WCD) 2016 organized by Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and supported by World Health Organization (WHO) and International Agency of Research on Cancer (IARC). All over the World more than 600 events are planned for the event.
WCD was estabilished by the Paris Charter adopted at the World Summit Against Cancer for the New Millenium (Paris, 4th Febraury 2000).

In Italy WHO data showed 93,800 deaths for cancer in males and 73,400 in females in 2014 (Cancer Mortality Profile). Data showed among males high incidence of prostate cancer, lung cancer, colorectum cancer, bladder cancer and kidney cancer; among females high incidence of breast cancer, colorectum cancer, lung cancer, thyroid cancer.
