28 April 2018: World Day for Safety and Health at Work

As every year UMdL participates at World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2018, supported also by International Labour Organization (ILO) and sustained also by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and by the United Nations (UN). This year the Day is associated with the World Day Against Child Labour (each year on 12 June).

April 28th is also known as the International Workers’ Memorial Day; more information about it on the AFL-CIO America’s Union website and on 28april.org.

This year the main theme of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2018 is “GENERATION SAFE AND HEALTHY” (here the link to the official report about the topic and the related key messages). The Campaign is focused on the achievement of the target 8.8 of safe and secure working environments for all workers by 2030 and the target 8.7 of ending all forms of child labour by 2025 as proposed by the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).

Data from ANMIL about deaths at work in Italy provided by media: until April 2018 there were 78 accidents; at all in 2017 there were 306 deadly episodes.
